Dill Vitality Essential Oil Uses and Benefits

Dill is one of the unsung heros in the essential oil world! Native to Asia, dill has been used as an herbal treatment as far back as 1550 BC, when it was recorded on ancient Egyptian papyrus. Did you know dill is contained in Hildegard’s Medicine Book? Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179) was known as the first herbalist and naturopath of the middle ages. Dill was found in the tomb of Egyptian Pharaoh Amenhotep II, and its use was also documented by the Ancient Greeks. Dill Vitality has a spicy, fresh scent that is stimulating, revitalizing, and balancing. It is produced by steam distilling the whole dill plant, yielding a fresh herbal essential oil that can be used to enhance the flavor of traditional Russian, European, Asian and Scandinavian dishes. In addition, it contains antioxidants, may provide digestive support, and offers cleansing properties when taken internally.* FEATURES & BENEFITS Has a … Continue reading

Come oil with me… A weekly challenge

Come Oil with Me is an invitation to join me in a weekly challenge. We’ll learn all about one Young Living oil or blend, one week at a time.   Essential oils are often referred to as “natures living energy”. They are called that for good reason because they can help support and maintain the body, mind and spirit in awesome and amazing ways. At the 2016 Live Your Passion Grand Convention, Gary Young, the founder of Young Living, gave each of us a challenge… to focus on one single oil or blend a week. To learn all about it, to research it, to study it, and most importantly to USE it and experience its benefits first hand… each and every day, for an entire week. And do that for a year. Imagine what that means. Potentially it means that at the end of one year, we would have first … Continue reading

Harvest Time Cinnamon Spiked Tomatoes

Eating cinnamon spiked tomatoes on a hot summer day is one of my favorite memories from childhood. My mom and dad turned our backyard into an organic garden. She and my father spent many a day and night canning the bounty of fruit and vegetables harvested from it. My most memorable and favorite things that came out of that garden was my mom’s cinnamon spiked tomatoes, her peach syrup and apple cobbler. Oh, and how could I forget, the strawberries. Tons and tons of fresh red, ripe, juicy strawberries. Those were the days! Her cinnamon spiked tomatoes were incredibly tasty and so refreshing, especially on hot summer days. And best of all, they’re super easy to make! She said her mother used to make them and she carried on the tradition. They were definitely a family favorite and didn’t last long. While she didn’t have access to our Cinnamon Bark … Continue reading

Start the day off right!

One simple thing that you can do to support your body on a daily basis is to start the day off right with a cup of warm lemon water! Begin by drinking 8 oz. of warm water (not boiling) with the juice from one half a lemon mixed in before breakfast. CAUTION: Don’t put lemon juice in water that’s warmer than 140°F, as this can break down all of the goodness inside. This morning ritual helps thin bile to get it moving. It’s a great way to gently cleanse and detoxify your liver and kidneys*. NOTE: Lemon juice is acidic and can affect teeth enamel. After drinking lemon juice/water be sure to rinse your mouth with plain fresh water! Kick it up a notch with Lemon Vitality! Lemon Vitality essential oil is cold pressed from the rind of the fruit, making it alkaline and not acidic like lemon juice. Add … Continue reading

Soothing Thieves Tea

Thieves® tea is quite tasty and very soothing. There are several versions for making Thieves tea but this one, which includes raw apple cider vinegar and honey, is my favorite and super simple to make.   The addition of apple cider vinegar (ACV) helps alkalinize the body. The acetic acid in apple cider vinegar helps your body absorb vitamins and minerals from the foods you eat, and also slows down digestive enzymes to regulate blood sugar levels. Controlling of the acid in your body is perhaps one of the single most important processes you need to support. Thieves® is a legendary blend of essential oils is formulated with Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary, which provide immune support and cleansing properties when taken internally.* 1- Simply brew your favorite tea or just use plain ole hot water. …I like using The Republic of Tea’s Honey Ginseng Green Tea … Continue reading
