The Benefits of Drinking Kombucha Tea

Kombucha tea, one of my favorite superfoods, has been around for a long, long time and in recent years has really grown in popularity. Its a naturally carbonated beverage that when made properly, happens to be a super nutritious thyroid and autoimmune elixir, full of B vitamins, vitamin C, enzymes for digestion, acids to boost the immune system, and gut-healing probiotics.   Many scientific studies have been conducted on Kombucha tea. Russian researchers discovered that many of its components have antibiotic and detoxifying characteristics, and they play a decisive role in the biochemical processes in the body. Its been reported that it detoxes heavy metals, plastics, and neurotoxins! Kombucha tea is made from a scoby mushroom which consists of a gelatinoid and tough mushroom-web membrane in the form of a flat disk. It lives in a nutrient solution of tea and sugar, in which it constantly multiplies through germinating. The fungal disc … Continue reading

Bone Broth- A Powerful Healing Tool

Bone broth, a highly beneficial, nutrient dense superfood has been used since ancient times and is considered to be one of the most remarkable foods on the planet that is made from simmering animal or fish bones. Its a powerful healing tool, often referred to as “the elixir of life.” Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, said over 2,000 years ago… “All disease begins in the gut.” Modern day science is finally coming around and confirming this ancient wisdom. Sadly, most people remain unaware of how incredibly beneficial bone broth is and miss out on the opportunity to transform their health and life. When you were sick as a child, did your mom ever make a pot of chicken soup and insist that you eat it, telling you that it would make you feel better? Have you ever wondered why? Homemade bone broth has amazing health benefits and can be … Continue reading

Homemade Ginger Ale with a KICK!

homemade-gingerale-w-oils

One of the best things that you can do is to for your health is to ditch all the sugar laden drinks and sodas, and replace them with healthier options like homemade lemonade or this homemade ginger ale with a kick. Most of the drinks on the market contain either high-fructose corn syrup, which means your drinking a product made from GMO’s which is a whole other subject in and of itself, or artificial sweeteners. Its getting harder and harder but I try to avoid GMO’s like the plague. In recent years studies have shown that sugar is more addictive as cocaine… yep that’s right, COCAINE. Dr. Mercola, an alternative medicine proponent and osteopathic physician, says it’s “one of the most addictive and harmful substances currently known”. If you’ve ever tried to get off sugar and had a hard time doing so, now you know why! And don’t think for … Continue reading

Feed Your Gut, Change Your Life

Our modern lifestyle and fast-paced culture is oftentimes at odds with living a healthy lifestyle. We’ve all heard the saying “You are what you eat!” right? When we do this we can begin to live life the way it was meant to be lived. Living a rich, vibrant, healthy life is within our reach when we begin to make healthy lifestyle changes. In today’s toxic world, if you want to live life to its fullest then you need to be making healthy choices in many areas of your life. When you supply your body with what it needs it will respond in positive ways. It really is very simple, it just isn’t necessarily easy. We’re all creatures of habit and most of us find it difficult to break old patterns especially ones that have been ingrained in us for many years, but it can be done. Incorporating Essential Oils Into Recipes

I love incorporating essential oils into recipes. It’s a lot easier than some might think and only takes a second. Adding essential oils to a recipe has a two fold purpose… not only does it enhance the taste of the dish but more importantly it provides all the benefits of that particular essential oil and assures me that everyone eating the dish receives those benefits.  A great way to share with your family members, especially children, and you don’t even have to tell them. It really is as simple as adding an oil of the same ingredient. Let me explain… last night I made salsa using fresh produce from my garden, to go with the Taco Salad we were having for dinner. The salsa recipe calls for lime juice, sooooo…. I also add a drop or two of Lime (Vitality) essential oil. A couple words of caution here though… I almost never add … Continue reading

This salad, with its beautiful bursts of color, is not only very nutritious but also very appetizing and sure to make mouths water. The use of mason jar salads is another cool option to help you with your weight management goals as they are healthy, and quick and easy to prepare ahead a time.
