Then throw something on top of it like we’ve experienced over the past year or so with the shutdown and it’s a recipe for disaster. Fortunately, the inhalation of genuine premium-grade essential oils is one the most effective ways to help one to calm and quiet a busy, stressed and overwhelmed mind. “The ability of essential oils to act on both the mind and the body is what makes them truly unique among natural substances. The fragrance of some essential oils can be very stimulating– both psychologically and physically.”- D. THIEVES DISH SOAP Turn 1 Bottle Into 4 and Add Suds

thieves dish soap turn 1 bottle 2

When I first got my Thieves Dish Soap I was like… “Where’s the bubbles?” not to mention being less than thrilled about the price. I mean, let’s be real, few people can afford to pay $14 (wholesale price/June 2019) for a 12 fl. oz. bottle of dish soap. Sure, I want to ditch chemical laden dish soaps but it has to be affordable too. Well, this post is going to show you a hack on how to turn that one 12 oz bottle into 4 power packed bottles (or 48 oz’s) of dish soap, allowing you to get more cleansing power and suds, making it much more affordable at approximately $3.50 a bottle. Plant-based dish soaps on the market thankfully tend to not include SLS (sodium laurel sulfate) which is a good thing for sure. Why is this a good thing? Well, according to the Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep … Continue reading

Get a Jump Start on 2018

As we come to the close of one year and enter into the next, its a good time to reflect on the past and set new goals for the future. However, sometimes that’s easier said than done, right? It can be very hard, some would say impossible, to move forward when we’re still hanging onto the past… whether that means harboring unforgiveness in our hearts towards past wrongs or perhaps holding onto old memories or habits, good or bad. Either way, if we remain focused on them they can keep us locked in the past and prevent us from moving forward and into the future. Fortunately essential oils may be just the answer you’ve been looking for. I was fascinated and amazed when I learned of the impact that our sense of smell has on our body and mind. The simple act of inhaling scents through our olfactory system (sense … Continue reading

The Beginning of Young Living

Have you ever wondered how Young Living Essential Oils began? Where it all started? Back in July of 2015, Gary Young, founder of Young Living, published a series of posts on his blog, detailing the highlights of what led him down the path towards essential oils. It’s a fascinating read and reveals his PASSION for essential oils and the reason why he has made his life’s goal to take Young Living essential oils to every home in the world.   Actually, Gary Young’s whole life before discovering essential oils prepared him for the path that God had chosen for his life. Life was not easy for the Young family by any means, and in many ways mirrors that of our forefathers who founded this country. You see Gary grew up in a 16×20-foot cabin with a dirt floor until the age of 4. Then his father, Donald N. Young, built … Continue reading

Incorporating Essential Oils Into Recipes

I love incorporating essential oils into recipes. It’s a lot easier than some might think and only takes a second. Adding essential oils to a recipe has a two fold purpose… not only does it enhance the taste of the dish but more importantly it provides all the benefits of that particular essential oil and assures me that everyone eating the dish receives those benefits.  A great way to share with your family members, especially children, and you don’t even have to tell them. It really is as simple as adding an oil of the same ingredient. Let me explain… last night I made salsa using fresh produce from my garden, to go with the Taco Salad we were having for dinner. The salsa recipe calls for lime juice, sooooo…. I also add a drop or two of Lime (Vitality) essential oil. A couple words of caution here though… I almost never add … Continue reading
