When I first got my Thieves Dish Soap I was like… “Where’s the bubbles?” not to mention being less than thrilled about the price. I mean, let’s be real, few people can afford to pay $14 (wholesale price/June 2019) for a 12 fl. oz. bottle of dish soap. Sure, I want to ditch chemical laden dish soaps but it has to be affordable too. Well, this post is going to show you a hack on how to turn that one 12 oz bottle into 4 power packed bottles (or 48 oz’s) of dish soap, allowing you to get more cleansing power and suds, making it much more affordable at approximately $3.50 a bottle.
Plant-based dish soaps on the market thankfully tend to not include SLS (sodium laurel sulfate) which is a good thing for sure. Why is this a good thing? Well, according to the Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep Cosmetic Safety Database, SLS is a “moderate hazard” that has been linked to cancer, neurotoxicity, organ toxicity, skin irritation and endocrine disruption. Start reading your labels… you’ll find its in everything! :-O
However, many of these plant based dish soaps list essential oils as an ingredient. Well, one thing I can pretty much guarantee is that the essential oils listed on their label are synthetic chemical copies, and are made in a lab somewhere… they are NOT the REAL THING.
With Thieves Dish Soap you can rest assured that you’re getting genuine, premium-grade essential oils and all the benefits they provide. They are the real deal. No compromise here. Thieves Dish soap is a plant-based formula, free from SLS, SLES, dyes, formaldehyde, phosphates, and synthetic perfumes. You really don’t need harsh chemicals, dyes and synthetics to get your dishes clean.

Thieves Dish Soap contains:
• Surfactants: These are derived from natural sources such as glucose, palm trees, and coconuts. Surfactants are needed for different reasons: (1) They act as cleansing and foaming agents, and (2) they act as stabilizers to make sure you don’t get an overload of bubbles as you wash your dishes! Because they are naturally derived, our surfactants are biodegradable and non-irritating to your skin. Our formula pairs the surfactants with natural salts, because these two ingredients work synergistically to boost cleaning properties!
• Minerals (sodium sesquicarbonate): This naturally derived ingredient balances the pH in the formula, which means that no preservatives are needed! The minerals are extracted from trona ore, a mineral that is found near the Green River area.
• Jade Lemon essential oil: Jade Lemon has a unique lemon-lime scent that is pleasing and uplifting. Its wonderful, zesty fragrance is clean and inviting.
• Bergamot essential oil: Bergamot’s aroma is tart yet sweet and uplifting yet relaxing, making it a popular oil in perfumes, cosmetics, and lotions. In addition to its scent, Bergamot has attracted attention for its cleansing properties, and it’s often used as a luxurious ingredient in shampoos, soaps, and cleansers.
• Thieves essential oil blend: Thieves is a powerful combination of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary essential oils for an aromatic blend that fills any space with a rich, spicy aroma. It includes the naturally occurring constituents trans-cinnamaldehyde, limonene, and eucalyptol. It’s known for its cleansing properties, and it neutralizes and purifies odors.
We love using our Thieves Dish Soap because we know with certainty that it boasts clean, plant-based ingredients safe for the whole family!
