The Power of DIFFUSING Essential Oils

When properly distilled and produced in their pure unadulterated state, essential oils are some of the most concentrated natural extracts known to mankind, and their use dates back to ancient times. Largely overlooked until recent years, they are making a resurgence and are one of the hottest new trends but this time around they are not likely to disappear from use.

Essential oils and plant extracts have been woven into history since the beginning of time and are considered by many to be some of the most powerful substances on earth which explains the huge amount of interest they’re generating, to include within today’s scientific community.

“The ability of essential oils to act on both the mind and the body is what makes them truly unique among natural therapeutic substances. The fragrance of some essential oils can be very stimulating– both psychologically and physically.”-  D. Gary Young

The sense of smell is the only one of the five senses directly linked to the limbic lobe of the brain, the emotional control center. Essential oils have the power to change the atmosphere and mood in any room! Your sense of smell is directly connected to the limbic lobe of your brain, which is the emotional control center. It is responsible for your mood, memory, behavior, feelings, and emotions.

Diffusing essential oils in your home provides far more benefits than just a nice smell! The scent of special fragrance can evoke memories and emotions before we are even consciously aware of it. Where smells are concerned, we react first and think later. All other senses (touch, taste, hearing, and sight) are routed through the thalamus, which acts as the switchboard for the brain, passing stimuli onto the cerebral cortex (the consious thought center) and other parts of the brain.

Whether used aromatically, topically or ingested, the use of pure essential oils can help support the body on all levels, including spiritual levels. We typically refer to this as affecting the body, mind, and spirit! No wonder they were more valuable than gold in ancient times, although many today still hold to that premise!

The Benefits of Cold-Air Diffusing
Cold-air diffusers are designed to atomize essential oils into micro-fine particles where they remain suspended in the air for several hours. Unlike aroma lamps or scented candles, or worse, the very toxic plug-in types of scented oil air fresheners which if broken and spilled in a store require a HAZMAT procedure to clean and remove, a diffuser actually disperses the oils into the air without heating or burning, which can render the oil less therapeutically beneficial, or worse… create toxic compounds. Research shows that cold-air diffusing of certain oils may:

  • Can eliminate unpleasant odors not just mask them
  • Relax the body and emotions, and clear the mind
  • Support concentration, alertness, and mental clarity
  • Change the atmosphere and stimulate a positive mood
  • Produce negative ions and release natural ozone
