• “There is treasure to be desired and oil in the house of the wise.” – Proverbs 21:20

Going Through Hard Times

Are you going through a rough patch in life, or, perhaps know someone who is? Could you use a little help getting through hard, difficult times, or seasons of life full of trials and strife? Do you know someone else who could?

I don’t know about you but I would welcome anything that could help me keep my thoughts and attention on the author and finisher of my faith, and his promises, instead of constantly thinking about and rehashing the problem over and over again in my head. Do you struggle with that? I know I do from time to time. Do you find it difficult to let go and let God? I’m pretty certain that most of us, if not all, have struggled with this at one time or another. It serves no purpose and just ends up robbing us of our joy.

Fortunately, I have a couple of things that I believe could make all the difference going into the future.

I believe in the power of prayer, meditation and the use of pure therapeutic-grade essential oils. One of the most popular oils to use during prayer and meditation is Frankincense essential oil. Young Living carries 2, sometimes 3, types of Frankincense. When combining oils with prayer and meditation they are a powerful tool and amplify the effects of the other.

Frankincense, The FATHER of All Oils, is considered the holy anointing oil in the Middle East, where it has been used in religious ceremonies for thousands of years. Frankincense has many uses but one of its most well known is in spiritual applications. It is useful for visualizing, improving one’s spiritual connection, and centering. It has comforting properties that help focus the mind and overcome stress and despair. Frankincense has the ability to deepen and slow the breath, and this helps to bring the body and mind into a meditative state. It helps break ties with the past, especially when they block personal growth. More recently, it has been used in European and American hospitals and is the subject of substantial research.

This oil is distilled at the Young Living distillery in Oman. The main therapeutic constituent in Frankincense is boswellic acid. Young Living’s Frankincense (boswellia carterii) contains a significant amount of boswellic acid, but Boswellia Sacra has double the amount of boswellic acid as boswellia carterii. Not all species of Frankincense contain boswellic acid. Of the ones that do, the resin has to be distilled very quickly after harvest in order for it to show up in the oil. That’s why Young Living has a distillery right in Oman. Brokers don’t have the ability to do this and therefore think, erroneously, that it’s not supposed to be there.

Most essential oil companies are selling Boswellia frereana. Boswellia frereana is highly fragrant and is typically used for incense burning and fragrances, and has little or no therapeutic value. It contains no boswellic acid which is one of the main chemical constituents in Boswellia carterii and Boswellia sacra. Boswellia frereana belongs in the perfume industry and is little more than a nice smelling scent.

FRANKINCENSE (Boswellia carterii)

It has a sweet, warm, balsamic aroma that is stimulating and elevating to the mind and said to increase spirituality and inner strength. It contains sesquiterpenes, which when inhaled or absorbed through the skin, is highly revered for its ability to stimulate the limbic system (center for memory and emotions) of the brain.

It is ideal for those who wish to take their spiritual journey and meditation experiences to a higher level. It is the first Omani frankincense to be available to those outside of Saudi royals or the privileged of Oman. It is regarded the world over as the rarest, most sought-after aromatic in existence and once worth its weight in gold. Basically you can use Sacred Frankincense like you would regular Frankincense but with a more powerful result.

After 15 years of research, 15 trips to Oman, and numerous meetings and negotiations with Omani officials, Gary Young was granted the first export permit in the history of Oman for the release and export of the oil. He was also given permission to build a Young Living distillery in the country in order to export the resulting oil out of Oman. This marks the first time any Westerners have been able to experience the unique, spiritual properties contained within.

In the bible we are told to pray and meditate, right? Honestly, until today, I have to admit that I thought that they were pretty much the same thing. I don’t remember anyone EVER teaching me “how” to meditate. They’ve taught about it and encouraged us to do so but skipped over sharing the details of how to actually “do it.” Although similar, I believe they are actually different, and that we need to do both to experience a closer walk with God.

Well, let me introduce you to a Christian guided meditation app that will walk you through each step, and teaches you the basic fundamentals so you can see and experience firsthand what it means to actually “meditate”. You can download this app to your smartphone and use whenever needed.

I’m very excited to share this tool with you and many thanks to my friend and fellow team member Pamela Wundrow for sharing this with me. I’ve been totally blessed by this app and now because she cared enough to share, I get to share this with you. I found this app of great benefit and believe it can be a powerful resource to help you and those you love, strengthen and grow in faith.

Having access to this Christian guided meditation app can be a very helpful tool and can be used anywhere, by anyone, day or night, but employing the use essential oils while meditating can take this experience to a whole new level. Try incorporating some or all of these tips before beginning the guided meditation…
– First, if possible, find a quiet room or space, all by yourself, with no distractions
– Grab a bottle of either of Young Living’s FRANKINCENSE essential oils- Frankincense (Boswellia carterii) or Sacred Frankincense (Boswellia sacra)

– Add a few drops to a cold air diffuser and diffuse, simply inhale directly from the bottle or use with a nasal inhaler (keep one in your purse for easy access)
– Apply to bottom of feet, on nape of neck, and on temples
– During the day try applying to the crown of the head to stay clear minded, and also at night to empower your dreams

The Song of Solomon 4:6- “Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense.”

Proverbs 21:20- “There is treasure to be desired and oil in the house of the wise.”

Joshua 1:8- “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.”

Psalm 63:6- “When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches.”

Psalm 1:2- “But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.”

Psalm 111:2- “Great are the works of the LORD; They are studied by all who delight in them.”

Psalm 16:8- “I have set the LORD continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”

Isaiah 26:3- “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”

James 1:2-8- “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.”

2 Timothy 2:7- “Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.”

Philippians 4:8- “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, DWELL on these things.”

James 1:12- “Blessed is the one who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”

I hope you found this information helpful and are able to use and share with others. May it not only strengthen your faith but also provide you, and those you love, encouragement and comfort when going through difficult times both now, and in the future.
