UCLA Health System and the URBAN ZEN Initiative
Beth Israel Medical Center…
in New York did extensive testing on all the different essential oil companies out there to come to the final conclusion that Young Living Essential Oils is the only one that has consistently showed positive results in their real blood lab tests which is why Young Living oils are used EXCLUSIVELY in their hospital.
The URBAN ZEN INITIATIVE
It’s exciting to witness a transformation happening in American hospitals and The Urban Zen Initiative has played a MAJOR role in it. This approach to integrating “alternative” or “complimentary” therapies with traditional medicine, including the use of Young Living Essential Oils EXCLUSIVELY, is providing everyone involved with a powerful component to their healthcare needs. Thank you Donna Karan!!!

Cleveland Clinic in Ohio Provides Complementary Therapy
The Cleveland Clinic provides complementary therapy, to include aromatherapy, for cancer patients, describing it as an additional form of treatment given along with chemotherapy and Western medicine. The integration of conventional and complementary cancer treatments however, is of increasing interest. Complementary medicine is recognized and approved by many health care professionals as an additional method of cancer treatment, whereas alternative therapy is not. Complementary medicine is given along with chemotherapy whereas alternative medicine is given in place of chemotherapy and includes non-approved, non-tested treatments that can be harmful.
Cleveland Clinic- Tackling pain from different angles
Be Well for Parents – September 2011 Issue (Newsletter)… Feature: When Kids’ Pain Won’t Go Away
“Drs. Banez and Jones say their methods sometimes overlap and usually complement one another. In addition to physical and occupational therapy, the Pediatric Pain Rehabilitation Program incorporates psychological and behavioral counseling, mind-body skills training, acupressure and aromatherapy — all of which have been proven helpful, Dr. Banez says.”

“We regularly treat gout, neuropathy, carpel tunnel, sinusitis, headaches, abdominal pain, kidney stone pain, neuralgia, tennis elbow, arthritis, back pain, leg cramps, post-op hip and knee pain and whatever else comes our way. Each patient’s need, including which Young Living Essential Oils were used, is documented in our electronic charting so we can track their outcomes. We always have a good stock of Young Living lavender, peppermint, Peace and Calming, Lemongrass, Thieves and plenty of single oils to make blends for gout.
We have great expectations for the future of our aromatherapy program and hope to train enough folks to cover our Cancer Care Center and Pain Clinic, and look forward to the day we can do clinical studies on arthritis, post-op nausea, and hypertension.
We would never even entertain the idea of using any other essential oil in our hospital. Young Living Essential Oils not only provide us with the level of quality we expect, but they are always consistent in their formulation so we are assured of the best possible outcomes for our patients.”
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center’s Website
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center’s website provides links to information on herbs, botanicals and essential oils. Although the articles are for educational purposes only, I find it refreshing that major hospitals across the country are starting to embrace natural therapies, particularly essential oils. One example is on lavender essential oil. On the website it explains the use of the oil for these purported uses: Acne ~ Alopecia ~ Depression ~ GI disorders ~ Inflammation ~ Insomnia ~ Migraine treatment ~ Pain ~ Promote urination ~ Spasms

“I did not “believe” in essential oil at all before. Although I was very impressed by everyone’s opinion on essential oils, I do need scientific evidence to prove or disprove the argument.
After I used 5 Young Living oils to try in cultured human cancer cells, I was amazed by frankincense oil; and results were repeatable in multiple cancer types. These results suggest the pattern of tumor cell death is real to me (at least in culture conditions). We now have data on mechanisms of action executed by frankincense oil.
Personally, I used Thieves a lot during last winter. Whenever myself or my boys had flu symptoms, we took several drops of the oil for 2-3 days. My boys were able to attend their classes the whole time, while more than half of their friends missed the classes.”
Robert Fuller, Ph.D.
Director of the Center for Earth and Environmental Science at the State University of New York, Plattsburgh.
“As a professor teaching environmental chemistry, I’ve always been alarmed about the diversity of chemicals we add to everyday products from prepared foods to household cleaning products. Laced with potent disinfectants and strong oxidants, these cleaners contain known carcinogens, trigger allergies and exacerbate asthma symptoms. Many contain compounds that mimic our body’s hormones and have harmed us and the environmental systems they drain into.
Personally, I’ve thrown away all of these types of cleaning products and replaced them with one family of products, the Thieves line from Young Living. Not only do they clean and disinfect surfaces, I can use them without fear of skin contact or ingesting vapors. In fact, they even smell good. And the best benefit; we save money by replacing numerous cleaners with just one bottle of Thieves. Life is simpler and healthier for us with Thieves products.”
Ronald Lawrence, M.D., Ph.D.
Associate Professor at UCLA and author of The Miracle of MSM: The Natural Solution for Pain
“Young Living has the best researched products I have seen in the alternative health industry. Their MSM formula (Sulfurzyme) is a mainstay in my medical practice.”
