Vita Flex Technique

Vita Flex means ‘vitality through the reflexes’. Said to have originated in Tibet thousands of years ago, long before acupuncture was developed, it was brought to the United States by Stanley Burroughs in the 1920’s. This powerful ancient Tibetan methodology is based on a complete system of internal body controls and is said to very effective whether used alone or when combined with other modalities.

What is Vita Flex?
It is a specialized form of hand and foot massage that is exceptionally effective and has a synergistic effect when combined with essential oils, as is done in the Raindrop Technique. It is used to stimulate all the body systems on a physical and emotional level.

The fascinating theory behind this technique is known as “piezoelectric” and is based upon the premise that slight pressure when combined with a rolling motion of the finger pads, tips and nails, produces an energetic charge or stimulation… similar to the way an electric switch or electrical circuit works. Oils are applied to various reflex points of the body points, and energy is released through electrical impulses created by contact between the fingertips and reflex points.

There are more than 1,400 Vita Flex points throughout the human body, encompassing the entire realm of body and mind. In contrast to the steady stimulation of Reflexology, Vita Flex uses a rolling and releasing motion that involves placing all four fingers flat on the skin, rolling onto the fingertips, and continuing over onto the fingernail. Use medium pressure. Move ahead about half the width of the finger and repeat until the Vita Flex point, or area, is covered. Repeat this movement over the area three times.

Gary Young states:

“To use the Vita Flex Technique, always place the oils in the palm of your hand and use the dominant hand to stir the oils clockwise three times before applying them on location. The same thing applies for those who practice reflexology, acupressure, spinal touch, zone therapy, etc. All types of different therapies will result in a significant improvement when combined with the oxygen and high electrical frequency of the oils.

When using the Vita Flex Technique with essential oils, it is best to start on the bottom of the feet. The foot charts that I have created may seem a little different from the standard reflexology charts. I found that while testing the electrical currents with the frequency monitor that the contact points were a little different than those shown on standard foot charts. The Vita Flex charts are based on electrical frequency tracing, which is more accurate.”

Dr. Leanne Deardruff states in one of her books…

“Put the oils on the points and roll the fingers across the points on the foot from pad of finger to finger nail. Do this rapidly and for several minutes. The fingernail has a positive charge since it is mostly protein while the pad of the finger has a negative charge. Rolling the fingers from pad to nail causes a small stimulus which can activate the Vita Flex point.

There are many online videos showing “how” to do this technique… just do a search for it to see it being done.

  1. Awesome info in this post! Great job—–had always wondered why Gary’s charts were somewhat different from other reflexology charts—now I know why—-electrical frequency tracing!!
