Valor- Substitute Recipes
VALOR is one of Young Living Essential Oils TOP SELLING oil blends and goes in and out of stock because of the limited supply of one or two oils found in it. At first it was black spruce, now its blue tansy. A very frustrating situation for many of us. I believe the explanation you’ll find below, as to “why” it’s out of stock from Travis Ogden- COO at Young Living helpful. In the meantime you might find the following substitute recipes listed below helpful until it’s back in stock.
Dec. 2016 UPDATE: Valor is out of stock again. The shortage of black spruce oil that meets our stringent quality standards is no longer an issue as we now own our own Northern Lights Farm in British Columbia which should keep us well stocked with black spruce essential oil and hopefully able to meet future demands of this highly prized oil blend! However, the lack of blue tansy oil is the reason for the shortage of Valor now.
From Travis Ogden- COO at Young Living
“Many of you have been wondering what the status is of one of our most popular oils, Valor. I just gave an update on this important product to many of our members here in Hawaii and everyone was so grateful I figured I’d share it with all of you on Facebook.
There is a critical oil that is part of the Valor blend. Because of our unprecedented growth, supplies of this oil became very low in January so we set aside enough to ensure that our everyday oils kit remains in stock until we can harvest more.
What you don’t know is that we recently found plenty of this oil from a different supplier. We obtained a sample and put it to through our sophisticated testing. Unfortunately this oil did not meet our quality standards. Therefore we rejected the oil. We decided we would rather remain out of stock for a limited time than release a sub-standard product that does not meet our high quality standards.
Rest assured we have many things in the works behind the scenes to get this back online as soon as possible. We are securing enough of this and other oils to meet even greater growth in the future and realize Gary Young’s vision.”
As frustrating as this situation is, I have great admiration and respect for Young Living’s commitment to quality and their unwavering determination to never compromise the therapeutic value of Valor or any of our oils with inferior oils. I remain confident that Young Living is doing everything possible to remedy this situation and must remain patient in the meantime. Fortunately when we have oils that go out-of-stock oftentimes there are other oils that we recommend substituting them with, some of which are listed here.
Commitment to Quality
This commitment to quality is just one of many things in our SEED-TO-SEAL process that sets us apart from the competition. No other essential oil company goes to the same lengths that Young Living does, in order to create the best, highest qualify, AUTHENTIC essential oils in the world. With our SEED-TO-SEAL process we can declare with confidence that because of our untiring pursuit of product purity and potency, our essential oils and oil-infused products are the best nature has to offer and can help support your efforts in living a life of optimal heath and wellness and can help maximize those efforts.
Not All Oils Are Created Equal
Before thinking that you can just go out and purchase the oils used in this blend somewhere else cheaper to make your own and receive the same results there’s something you should know. BUYER BEWARE… 98% of the essential oils on the market are what is called “perfume” or “aromatherapy” quality or “fourth & fifth quality” oils and are NOT pure. They are adulterated and cut with synthetic, man-made chemicals which can cause rashes, burns or other irritations. Please DO NOT confuse those oils with pure, GENUINE therapeutic-grade Young Living essential oils. Most people think that when they buy an oil that is labeled as “100% pure” they are getting PURE oils. This is far from true. Unfortunately, not all essential oils are created equal. Believe it or not a company is allowed to label its oils “100% pure” as long as it contains at least 5% of the “actual oil” alleged to be in the bottle! So that probably means that bottle you see from our competitors, or in your health food store and even from apothecary shops labeled “100% pure” means NOTHING! I’m also betting that somewhere on the bottle there’s a warning against topical and/or oral ingestion. Now you know WHY!
Before deciding which essential oil company you should purchase from you might want to do some research first and check out the comparison charts on these two page first…
I found this recipe for Energy Balance Blend (another name for the Valor blend) in another book by D. Gary Young. For those of you who have Rosewood you may want to try this recipe.
Energy Balance Blend
15 drops spruce
7 drops frankincense
6 drops blue tansy
2 drops rosewood
1 drop balsam fir (no longer used in current formula for Valor)
Application: Apply 4-6 drops on the bottoms of feet. Put on the wrists, the chest, and at the base of the neck, or along the spine as used in the Raindrop Technique. When applying the oils along the spine, apply Energy Balance Blend first and let it work for 5-10 minutes before applying other oils. This blend may be worn as a perfume or cologne.
