1. Are Young Living oils sold in stores?
Not generally, because staff in a retail stores are not usually trained in the proper use of Young Living essential oils, nor have the time to offer on-going training and education. Our oils are not your average oils found in aromatherapy shops and are used differently than most oils on the market. It’s important when deciding to use our oils that you have access to someone who can help you learn how to use the oils properly and who is ready, willing and able to help guide and support you along the way.
2. My local health food store has oils which are less expensive. Why should I purchase Young Living oils, which are more expensive?
Most of the essential oils on the market are what is called “perfume” or “aromatherapy” quality, or “fourth & fifth quality” oils, and do not come from first distillation. This includes oils found in health food stores and aromatherapy shops. Please DO NOT confuse those oils with pure, organic, GENUINE therapeutic-grade Young Living essential oils.
The first distillation, when done properly, preserves the delicate, beneficial properties of the resulting oil. Second though sixth distillations are much lower in price because the distillers distill multiple times, at high temperature and high pressure, which destroys most of the beneficial chemical compounds. They are cheaper because of this.
To make matters worse, oftentimes they are cut with synthetic extenders and petrochemical solvents which increases the volume produced but can be very detrimental, sometimes causing rashes and burning, skin irritations and more. When you see warnings against topical application or oral ingestion stated on the bottle it can be a good indication that it is an adulterated oil. Most essential oil manufacturers are not willing to spend the time and effort it takes to produce high quality essential oils. You get what you pay for!

From the time the seed is sourced until the oil is sealed in the bottle, we apply the most rigorous quality controls possible, and exceed industry standards, to ensure that you are receiving essential oils exactly the way nature intended. Producing pure, unadulterated, genuine essential oils is a very complicated, expensive process and is truly as much an art as it is a science.
Young Living essential oils are NOT your average, run of the mill “scents” you will find at your local drug or health food store, apothecary shops, or even from our competitors. You can’t expect to use those and get the same results and should NEVER attempt to use other oils in the same way as it can be dangerous.
3. How do I purchase Young Living essential oils and other products?
Purchasing Young Living products is easy and can be done conveniently from your home. You have two options, save 24% as a Wholesale Member or pay full retail prices as a Retail Customer. You decide!
4. Is there an annual membership fee?
No, there is no recurring annual membership fee!
However, Wholesale Membership requires a one-time purchase of a Premium Starter Kit and that you keep your membership active by purchasing at least 50PV (appx. $50) of product per year.
5. Are there any extra or hidden costs I need to pay?
No, never! Wholesale Membership or Retail Customer, there are never any additional hidden fees or costs.
6. As a Wholesale Customer, do I have to buy products every month whether I want them or not?
No. You order what you want, when you want as a Wholesale Customer. We never want you to buy products you do not need.
Wholesale members save 24% however, however with our Essential Rewards Program, a monthly autoship program, we give you the opportunity to save even more. Wholesale members who join our Essential Rewards Program must meet a minimum monthly purchase of 50PV (approx. $50 plus tax/shipping). There are lots of other benefits this program too PLUS you can cancel at any time. It’s a great way to start building up your supply of essential oils and other products, and replace your oils as you run out of them. It’s a win-win opportunity all the way around.
7. Am I able to order additional products when I purchase a Premium Starter Kit?
Yes, you are! I would suggest calling Young Living at 1-800-971-3515. Give them my member ID# 965387 (or the ID# of the Heaven Scent Oiler Team member that sent you to this page) and tell them that you want to purchase a Premium Starter Kit. Also tell them you want to order additional products too. The best way to do that is to sign up for Essential Rewards (ER) and then have them add any additional products onto your ER order so that you can start earning points towards free products with your very first order. However, you can still order additional product without having signing up for join Essential Rewards.
8. If I become a Wholesale Customer I will have to sell or push my friends and family to buy products?
No, NEVER! You can be a wholesale member for the rest of your life if you like, you never have to sell a thing ever. You also will not be pushed to sell anything, ever.
The ONLY thing required to maintain your wholesale membership is that you MUST place at least one order a year of 50PV (about $50) worth of product a year to maintain your wholesale pricing.
9. Am I required to purchase the same products every month?
No. Buying products each month is totally up to you and is completely optional. Young Living provides a very extensive product line, well over 400 products to choose from and growing. You are always encouraged to buy whatever you want, whenever you want! See our on-line Product Catalog.
However, if you choose to operate your wholesale membership as a business and want to receive earned Fast Start and Start Living bonuses you need to have ordered at least 50PV of product. Rising Star bonus requires you to be on Essential Rewards and to have a minimum 100PV order for the month. 10. Do I have to buy ‘packs’ every month?
No. Young Living does not require you to purchase packs every month.
To save you even more and to reward you for your commitment to using our products we do offer reduced pricing on various Essential Rewards Packs, but they are 100% optional and available ONLY to those on the “Essential Rewards” program.
Even through the Essential Rewards Program, you are NOT locked into ordering them same thing every month. The Essential Rewards program is very flexible and allows you to experience our products on a deeper level and more complete way while taking advantage of all that this program has to offer.
11. Should I decide at some point to use my Wholesale Membership as a business will I be required to do cold calls?
No, never! No telemarketing, no cold calls, no high-pressure sales pitches. We never push or pressure others to sell or buy anything, ever. We practice “Heart-Centered Sharing” – which means we encourage you to become a user of the products first to experience for yourself their powerful benefits and then just start SHARING with others your love of the products, IF you so choose. You are never required to share with others the incredible results you receive by using the oils but we do encourage you to do so others can begin having their own essential oil experiences too.
12. Am I required to provide my Social Security or Tax ID number as a wholesale member upon enrollment?
We no longer require members to provide a Social Security or Tax ID number during the membership enrollment process. However, new members who choose to not submit a Social Security or Tax ID number upon enrollment can build a business but will be subject to a 28 percent tax withholding as soon as they reach $600 in annual commission earnings or $5,000 in annual product purchases. Upon meeting either of these thresholds, a highlighted note will appear in Virtual Office reminding them to add their Social Security number to their account to avoid this tax restriction.
