Come Oil With Me…

Come Oil with Me is an invitation to join me in a year long challenge to learn all about some of the oils or blends that Young Living offers- one oil, one week at a time. Through a series of blog posts we’ll be focusing on one Young Living oil or blend at a time, starting with the oils in our Premium Starter Kit. I believe this challenge will educate and empower each of us to live a life of oily bliss.Come Oil with Me

At this year’s 2016 Live Your Passion Grand Convention, Gary Young gave each of us a challenge… to focus on one single oil or blend a week. To learn all about it, to research it, to study it, and most importantly to USE it and experience its benefits first hand… each and every day for an entire week. Imagine what that means. Potentially it means that at the end of one year, we would have first hand experience and know all about 52 different oils or blends of oils that Young Living offers. As soon as he said that I thought… “Wow, what a simple, brilliant idea!” There is literally no better way to learn about each oil than by focusing our attention, our body, mind and spirit, one oil at a time, over an entire week. Simple, easy to do, not too overwhelming and can be done at our own pace as time allows. It’s something that each and every one of us “oilers” can benefit from.

To get the most benefit from this challenge, though, you need to commit to conducting your own research on the oil including each of its chemical constituents. The more time you spend educating yourselves and learning, while simultaneously using the oil, the quicker you’ll gain the confidence to quickly and easily use the oils in your everyday life. I’m not an expert on essential oils, and you shouldn’t feel like you need to be one either in order to begin using or sharing our oils with others. In fact, this challenge makes the perfect tool to invite others to take the journey with you.

When planning this challenge I knew that I would start with one of the oils from the Premium Starter Kit but which one was the question. Its an amazing collection of some of our most popular oils which can be used, and often are, on a daily basis. Let me tell you it was a real struggle and was so, so hard to decide which of the 11 oils I should begin with… NOT!!!

Trust me, I knew exactly what oil I that I would be using to begin this challenge with. For me, it was a total no brainer. I had to start with the oil that is known as “The FATHER of all Oils”! Do you know the answer to that question? Let me give you a hint. It’s fit for a king.

Before We Begin This Challenge
1- You are not going to want to miss out on a single one of these posts so be sure to sign up for email notification of my blog posts. Whether you are just beginning your oily journey or a seasoned veteran, my goal is to challenge everyone to come away knowing something about the featured oil that they didn’t know before.

blog-post-notificationGlance over on the right side of this page and scroll down the page until you see this box- it’s how you sign up for email notification of future blog posts. Don’t worry, I never share or give out your information to others and you can choose to discontinue receiving them at any time.

2- If you don’t already have a good reference book I suggest that you purchase one as soon as possible. Its a wise investment, will make this challenge much more interesting and will help you learn about essential oils and how to use them. You’ll find some great books and reference material on essential oils available at Life Science Publishing (discoverlsp.com), www.kindle.com, tinyurl.com/amazonaromabooks, Aromaweb.com/books… just a few among many available sources.

A WORD OF CAUTION BEFORE PURCHASING: There are 3 different methods or schools of thought when practicing aromatherapy- English, French, & German. Because Young Living’s oils are pure, authentic essential oils and are not adulterated with harmful synthetic chemicals we practice all 3 methods. So its very important to make sure that the book or reference material that you choose to purchase follows all three methods otherwise you may get three different conflicting answers on how to use them. This is also something to keep in mind when researching essential oils online… not all of the information you find online or in books supports or applies to Young Living’s oils. It makes a BIG difference in the way you approach and use our oils. Its the reason why I tell people to never attempt to use other brands of oils in the same way and why Young Living’s oils are the only ones I would ever consider ingesting… because our Seed-to-Seal process assures me of their purity and safety.

Did you know the answer to the question I asked above as to which oil I chose to begin this challenge with? Did the hint… “known as the FATHER of all oils” and “fit for a king” help you?

If you guessed Frankincense you’d be right. In ancient times Frankincense essential oil was more valuable than gold so it should come as no surprise that Frankincense (Boswellia carterii) was generally only available to royalty and the upper class who could afford it. The bible says that the 3 Wise Men brought frankincense, gold and myrrh to the Christ child at his birth… all three gifts, fit for a king. Click on the image/link below and let’s get oiling!
