This is day four of the 12 Days of Christmas DIY Recipes series, showing you how to use your essential oils and make your own essential oil infused gifts. Today’s project will show you how quick and easy it is to make your own body wash. Once you make your first bottle of essential oil infused DIY Body Wash you’ll wonder why you didn’t attempt this sooner. It really isn’t rocket science and is very simple to do. Most of the ingredients can be found at your local grocery or health food store, and it’s soooo much cheaper and healthier too. 12 Days of Christmas DIY Body Lotion Bars

This is day three of the 12 Days of Christmas DIY Recipes series, showing you how to use your essential oils and make your own essential oil infused gifts. Today’s project focuses on showing you how to make beautiful, luxurious body lotion bars. I’ve tried making homemade lotions before but have to say, I prefer body lotion bars over lotions. I’m hooked on them! Unlike lotions, lotion bars don’t require the addition of any emulsifying ingredients like homemade lotions do, which can be tricky. Lotion bars are solid at room temp, but when rubbed on your skin the heat from your body melts it leaving a thin layer of moisturizing ingredients clinging to your skin. Making homemade toiletry items gives me the ability to determine what goes into them and allows me to fine tune the final product to meet my needs at the time. It allows me to avoid … Continue reading

12 Days of Christmas DIY Foaming Hand Soap

This is day two of the 12 Days of Christmas DIY Recipes series, showing you how to use your essential oils and make your own essential oil infused gifts. Today’s project is going to show you how incredibly easy it is to make your own essential oil infused foaming bath soap, and it’s even easier than making yesterday’s bath salts. Before we begin there are a couple of things to keep in mind… 1- It’s important to use a foaming soap dispenser and NOT just a regular soap dispenser. These types of dispensers are intended to make the soap “foamy” otherwise it comes out watery. Castile soap has a watery consistency and is not thick like what your used to when buying hand soap from the store. It’s all natural and has no artificial thickeners in it which are bad for your body. 2- While you can use regular castile … Continue reading

Incorporating Essential Oils Into Recipes

I love incorporating essential oils into recipes. It’s a lot easier than some might think and only takes a second. Adding essential oils to a recipe has a two fold purpose… not only does it enhance the taste of the dish but more importantly it provides all the benefits of that particular essential oil and assures me that everyone eating the dish receives those benefits.  A great way to share with your family members, especially children, and you don’t even have to tell them. It really is as simple as adding an oil of the same ingredient. Let me explain… last night I made salsa using fresh produce from my garden, to go with the Taco Salad we were having for dinner. The salsa recipe calls for lime juice, sooooo…. I also add a drop or two of Lime (Vitality) essential oil. A couple words of caution here though… I almost never add … Continue reading

Ultimate Southwestern Chopped Salad with Cilantro Dressing

I love to adapt recipes whenever I can to fit our needs and taste buds. I absolutely LOVE it when I can easily change or adapt one to incorporate the use of Young Living’s essential oils. I recently saw a recipe for a Southwestern Chopped Salad and I knew immediately this recipe was a match made in heaven and that it would easily allow the use of essential oils. Another benefit… this recipe adapts so easily to making mason jar salads, my new favorite for busy schedules. This salad, with its beautiful bursts of color, is not only very nutritious but also very appetizing and sure to make mouths water. The use of mason jar salads is another cool option to help you with your weight management goals as they are healthy, and quick and easy to prepare ahead a time. Adding kefir to this recipe was the icing on … Continue reading

NingXia Red Gummie Vites 2019

Gummie Worms are very popular so it should come as no surprise that Gummie Vites (children’s vitamin) has been a big success too. But what if I was to tell you that there is a way for you to make a homemade version of this popular candy… they’re called NingXia RED Gummie Vites. NingXia Red is a powerful antioxidant drink that contains whole NingXia wolfberries … delivering vitamins, minerals, carotenoids, and phytonutrients. What a great way to get NingXia Red and other VALUABLE nutrients into children in a fun, tasteful way! I’d bet even picky eaters will LOVE these. Making your own version gives you the ability to add other very beneficial ingredients like gelatin, one of the main benefits of bone broth; and probiotics and enzymes. Parenting is oh so rewarding but hardly ever what I … Continue reading
