12 Days of Christmas DIY Body Lotion Bars

This is day three of the 12 Days of Christmas DIY Recipes series, showing you how to use your essential oils and make your own essential oil infused gifts. Today’s project focuses on showing you how to make beautiful, luxurious body lotion bars. I’ve tried making homemade lotions before but have to say, I prefer body lotion bars over lotions. I’m hooked on them! Unlike lotions, lotion bars don’t require the addition of any emulsifying ingredients like homemade lotions do, which can be tricky. Lotion bars are solid at room temp, but when rubbed on your skin the heat from your body melts it leaving a thin layer of moisturizing ingredients clinging to your skin. Making homemade toiletry items gives me the ability to determine what goes into them and allows me to fine tune the final product to meet my needs at the time. It allows me to avoid … Continue reading

12 Days of Christmas DIY Foaming Hand Soap

This is day two of the 12 Days of Christmas DIY Recipes series, showing you how to use your essential oils and make your own essential oil infused gifts. Today’s project is going to show you how incredibly easy it is to make your own essential oil infused foaming bath soap, and it’s even easier than making yesterday’s bath salts. Before we begin there are a couple of things to keep in mind… 1- It’s important to use a foaming soap dispenser and NOT just a regular soap dispenser. These types of dispensers are intended to make the soap “foamy” otherwise it comes out watery. Dirty Little Secrets of the Fragrance Industry

The fragrance industry doesn’t want you to know about their dirty little secrets… that your favorite perfume or cologne is more than likely a complex concoction of natural essences and synthetic chemicals. They take chemicals from their stockpile of 3,100 chemical ingredients, often made from petrochemicals to produce some of the best smelling, allergy-inducing, hormone disrupting, headache causing fragrances in the world. What they don’t tell you about is that many of these chemicals present potential health risks and build up in people’s bodies and pollute it. Since our skin is our largest organ much more attention needs to be paid to what we are putting on our skin. What you put on your skin gets absorbed into the body very quickly, not to mention that you are also inhaling these chemicals when you either apply them to the skin, or spray your favorite perfume, hair spray, air freshener, etc. … Continue reading

LIVING CHEMICAL FREE Teeth Brushing Routine

Living a chemical-free lifestyle should include using toothpaste and mouthwash that is safe and chemical free which is why you should make our THIEVES™ toothpaste, mouthwash and/or Thieves essential oil blend part of your teeth brushing routine. I say this for good reason! You may not be aware of this but did you know that most toothpastes on the market contain toxic chemicals? Yep, that’s right. Have you ever read the ingredients and warnings on the typical toothpaste products found at your grocery or drug store? Don’t believe me? Go grab your tube of toothpaste or better yet, the next time you’re at your grocery store take a look at the various varieties of toothpastes and mouthwashes… look for the ingredient listing, then check the box or bottle to see if there is a warning on it. Look closely… many contain poison warnings and tell you not to ingest? Many … Continue reading
