The Benefits of Drinking Kombucha Tea

Kombucha tea, one of my favorite superfoods, has been around for a long, long time and in recent years has really grown in popularity. Its a naturally carbonated beverage that when made properly, happens to be a super nutritious thyroid and autoimmune elixir, full of B vitamins, vitamin C, enzymes for digestion, acids to boost the immune system, and gut-healing probiotics.   Many scientific studies have been conducted on Kombucha tea. Russian researchers discovered that many of its components have antibiotic and detoxifying characteristics, and they play a decisive role in the biochemical processes in the body. Its been reported that it detoxes heavy metals, plastics, and neurotoxins! Kombucha tea is made from a scoby mushroom which consists of a gelatinoid and tough mushroom-web membrane in the form of a flat disk. It lives in a nutrient solution of tea and sugar, in which it constantly multiplies through germinating. The fungal disc … Continue reading

Going Through Hard Times

Are you going through a rough patch in life, or, perhaps know someone who is? Could you use a little help getting through hard, difficult times, or seasons of life full of trials and strife? Do you know someone else who could? I don’t know about you but I would welcome anything that could help me keep my thoughts and attention on the author and finisher of my faith, and his promises, instead of constantly thinking about and rehashing the problem over and over again in my head. Do you struggle with that? I know I do from time to time. Do you find it difficult to let go and let God? I’m pretty certain that most of us, if not all, have struggled with this at one time or another. It serves no purpose and just ends up robbing us of our joy. Fortunately, I have a couple … Continue reading

I Chose the Path Less Followed

Sometimes life throws us a curve ball… something that we weren’t expecting. We rejoice when its something good or exciting and never complain when that happens, right? However… sometimes good things come to us disguised as something bad, or something to be avoided and can take us down a path that we would not have chosen willingly, and many times they can leave us wondering “Why is this happening?” Because of my life experiences, I can now look back on many of these times in my life and give thanks for them because of the positive changes they produced. There certainly is something to be said for hindsight… its just hard to keep all that in mind while in the midst of a storm. One of these “times” happened years ago when my daughter was just shy of her 8th birthday and is responsible for taking me down the path … Continue reading

Procrastination… You’re History!

Ever feel overwhelmed or just not in the mood to deal with something? Do you find yourself putting off things that you really hate to do? Are you an avoider, a procrastinator and ready for a change? If we’re honest with ourselves I think each of us deals with this at some point in our life. One of the best ways to support a normal, healthy attitude and prepare to move forward in positive ways is to combine the use of essential oils with what I like to call “intentional thinking”. You may be asking yourself at this point… “What in the world is she talking about? What in the world is ‘intentional thinking’? It is a very simple technique and you can learn more about this topic and how to do it here!. I like to think of it as a way to combine meditation, visualization and prayer in … Continue reading

Awaken to a New You in 2016

Let 2016 be the year that you awaken to a new you and begin living a more natural, healthier lifestyle… one infused with Young Living essential oils. With a new year upon us, I want to challenge you to either begin incorporating them into your everyday life, or for those of you already using them, to consider using them in ways that you may not have thought of yet. With millions of people across the globe now using pure, genuine, unadulterated essential oils and tens of thousands of published research studies I’d have to say the jury is no longer out on determining if essential oils are beneficial or not. Anyone who says otherwise is clearly speaking out of ignorance. SETTING GOALS AND NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS Many people find themselves setting goals and making new years resolutions at the beginning of each year. According to the University of Scranton’s Journal … Continue reading

4 Tips When Stuck on STUPID!

Oftentimes we let difficult situations or people get the best of us and then get stuck on stupid. You’re probably asking yourself… what in the world does she mean by that? Well, too often we rehearse in our mind the negativity that we’ve experienced, and replay it over and over again in our mind. It’s like listening to a broken record. For those of you of the younger generation and unfamiliar with this ‘broken record’ term, it refers to a scratch in a vinyl record that would cause the needle [or stylus] to stay in the same groove- annoyingly causing it to repeat itself, over and over again, until one bumped it a little to get it unstuck. We’re all guilty of getting stuck on stupid at one time or another but fortunately, there are a few ways that we can make a conscious decision to “bump” ourselves that can … Continue reading

Jasmine… Queen of the Night

Jasmine** (Jasminum officinale) is known in India as “queen of the night” and “moonlight of the grove”. For centuries women around the world have treasured it for it’s beautiful fragrance. It possesses a warm, exotic, floral and seductive fragrance that relaxes, soothes, uplifts, and enhances self-confidence. Jasmine is beneficial for the skin, and a favorite for dry, aging and mature skin. It has been used throughout history for romance and attraction and for balancing the feminine energy of the body. **Jasmine is an absolute or essence, rather than a true essential oil. NOTE: One pound of Jasmine oil requires about 1,000 pounds of jasmine or 3.6 million fresh, unpacked blossoms. We take great care when producing this magnificient oil. The blossoms must be collected before sunrise, or much of the fragrance will have evaporated. The quality of the blossoms may also be compromised if they are crushed. A single pound … Continue reading
